My son is turning the “Terrible Twos” in November. If you ask me, he already started this tough age. He is such a handful, a ball of energy that is too strong for his own good. Too strong means he out destroying everything he gets his hands on. I am lucky we have a big apartment because he has the space to run around and tire himself out for his nap. We all know how cranky kids get when they miss their naps. He has recently mastered the art of fake crying. He can do it on the spot when he doesn’t get his way. This is usually the time where I pick him up and say, ” we don’t cry”, and distract him with something else. Isn’t it crazy how as mothers we can defuse any situation with distractions. From yelling out the title of his favorite show to saying candy, its an instant game changer. Mom’s we have the power!
Any-who, we have this yard that has two trees one that has berries and the other apples. He absolutely loves going outside to pick up fruit from the trees. I didn’t mind until he was cleaning berries on his shirt and his new white Nikes had purple stains! He loves going outside in the yard and having Tyson or myself chase him. He loves to run. Mom’s we know running can be scary when out babies have no concept of danger. I even considered that backpack with what appears to be a dog leash. I just can’t bring myself to buy it for fear of family judgement, who wants to be known as the girl who has their son on a backpack leash. My sister used it. I can’t bring myself to purchase it. I feel bad but what is worse him running away from me. It is so scary when they run. I always have to say “Hold Mama’s Hand Kingston”, everywhere we go! Mom’s I am new, so I blog as I am learning. What I learned so far is to always make him hold my hand no matter where we go. He will even walk towards the door and say “Mano” (hand in Spanish), progress is baby steps. He has already given me a run for my money at the mall. This only happens when I give in and take him out of the stroller. All I can say is he has my sweet spot when he does his little look. I can’t be mad for long. I know I will get better, but for now I will keep back and let Tyson be the one to lay down the law. After all, he is only 1, aww my little baby lol. I will leave you guys with two pictures, the one of the top of how magical it looks and then the bottom, reality off camera… Kingston hold Mama’s hand before you run! lol.
What have you mom or dads done to get your toddlers to not give you a run for your money? Have you invested in the back packs wth the string? Let me know.
