A lot has changed these past couple of weeks. My sister has transitioned from Stay at Home Mom to now being a Director in the real world. She is now a boss lady, as I like to put it and has turned in her everyday mom clothes to suit jackets and kitten heels. Well her friend and I are helping that process move a long since it tends to be difficult. Had she ever owned heels prior her interview, you would know the pain it is to walk a mile in my feet. I love wearing heels, but we started her with flats and soon kitten heels before she does the big platform move of pointy toe Steve Madden pumps. One step at a time. I am so proud of her big leap into the real world. I thought about creating a new post and she came to mind. The leap of stay at home to having two phones working mom. Her friend and I were helping her plan outfits for the entire week and some. This way in the morning she can just take and go. She asked last week, how do you have the energy to dress up in the morning. I said I have been doing it for years but it truly takes dedication. I mean you feel like a boss when you look like one. I love the feeling of walking in heels down my path to work. I love the “boss feeling” as I like to all it. So outfit planning can really be simple if you think about it. They key to work outfits are cardigan, blazers, statement necklace, multiple black/navy pants, and black shoes to start. Color pops and statement necklaces being the big underline pieces. We will slowly get into the shoes and pants but it takes time.
Any who, does anyone have tips to smooth the transition? Not only outfits, its also a part of leaving the kiddos and that letting go feeling. That feeling that you can’t see them ALL the time regardless of Facetime. She is struggling. Desk pictures help, and I even got her a picture Travel Mug for her coffee to keep her motivated on why she does what she does. I know it helped me.
